The essentials first
With our wheelchair transport service – often also called a wheelchair taxi – you stay seated in your own wheelchair: you enter the vehicle via a ramp or lift. Trained staff accompany you from the door of your flat to your destination, secure the wheelchair and the person properly and are there again for the return journey.
Typical uses
- Doctor, dentist and therapy appointments
- Shopping, visits and private appointments
- Journeys to events and family celebrations
- Transfers to the railway station and airport
- Admissions to and discharges from hospitals or care homes
From the door of your flat to your destination
We do not just take you from address to address, but from the door of your flat to wherever you actually want to go – to the treatment room, to reception, to your table.
Our vehicles have a ramp or lift, so you do not need to transfer. The wheelchair and the person are secured separately: the wheelchair anchored to the vehicle floor, you additionally with a seat belt. This is not a comfort feature but a prerequisite for safe transport.
Advance booking instead of waiting at the roadside
Wheelchair-accessible vehicles are not available on every street. That is why we work with advance booking: you give us the date and time, and we firmly schedule the vehicle for you. Ideally, book your journey one day in advance.
For short-notice journeys, give us a call – if a vehicle is free, we will come. You can reach us free of charge on 0800 670 670.

The first IVR-recognised patient transport service in north-western Switzerland
Recognition by the Swiss Interassociation for Rescue Services (IVR/IAS) is not a self-assessment but the result of an external audit of vehicles, equipment, training and procedures. Mobimed was the first patient transport provider in north-western Switzerland to receive it — and still holds it today.
